About the award

The Ideas Competition is aimed at universities, universities of applied science and other (non-) university research institutions that would like to expand their international visibility and networking in the context of internationalisation efforts. It focuses on ideas and activities that enhance the international visibility of core research areas of a research institution, region or network in an exceptional manner, provide opportunities for networking and/or attract outstanding research talent for cooperation or a research visit in Germany. Research in Germany and the appeal of research in Germany should also be given international visibility. Digital and non-digital formats should be combined in a practical manner. The prizes are being funded from special funds of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
